During the course of his amazing career Bob Dylan has made more changes of direction & style than any other major artist. None of these changes is more marked than with the creation of Blood On The Tracks. Blood On The Tracks is undoubtedly a product of Bob Dylans struggle to come to terms with the breakdown of his eight year long marriage. The album is deeply rooted in the dark side of life, & exudes rage, pain, bitterness, sorrow, &, at times, cruelty. Although many songs are typical Dylan riddles or allegories, Blood On The Tracks is an intimate, revealing affair. Blood On The Tracks is a largely quiet, acoustic-based album, & is the sound of an artist returning to his strenghts. Dylan made more influential albums than this, but he never made one better.
